Kate Middleton will be known by a new name when Prince William takes the throne and she becomes queen.
The 39-year-old, born Catherine Elizabeth Middleton, was given the titles of the Duchess of Cambridge, Countess of Strathearn and Baroness Carrickfergu following her wedding 10 years ago to William on April 29 in 2011.
And upon William’s ascent to the throne, she will be known as Queen Catherine, making her the nation’s sixth Queen Catherine.
Kate will likely be crowned “in a similar but simpler ceremony… unless decided otherwise,” the Royal Family website states.
The duchess’s title will also change when father-in-law Prince Charles is crowned king.
William, who would then be next in line to the throne, will become the Prince of Wales.
Kate will automatically become Princess of Wales.
