Major supermarket urgently recalls chocolate bars over fears they are ‘unsafe to eat’

CHOCOLATE bars at Lidl have been urgently withdrawn due to concerns that they may contain plastic. Fin Carré White Chocolate has been removed from the shelves at the supermarket, and customers who purchased it are being advised “not to eat it,” according to the Food Standards Agency.

The sweet treat has been affected by a “potential presence of foreign bodies (plastic) which may present a choking hazard,” officials said.

An FSA spokesperson said: “Lidl GB is recalling Fin Carré White Chocolate because it may contain pieces of plastic. “The possible presence of plastic makes this product unsafe to eat.”

All Fin Carré White Chocolate with a best before date of October 16, 2024, should be returned to stores, the agency added.
