Three people have been arrested after the body of a five-year-old boy was pulled from a river in Wales.
South Wales Police have said they were called at 5.45am on Saturday, July 31 to a report of concern for a missing child in the Sarn area of Bridgend, South Wales. Officers attended and found the body of the boy in the Ogmore River near Pandy Park.
The force said the boy was taken to the Princess of Wales hospital where his tragic death was confirmed.
A 39-year-old man, 30-year-old woman and a 13-year-old, all from the Bridgend area have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
South Wales Police say they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident but are asking for witnesses who may have any information about how the boy came to be in the water to contact them.
The boy was found after police received reports over concerns for safety.
A spokesman for the force said on its Facebook page: “We can confirm that following reports of concerns for a missing five year old boy in #Sarn #Bridgend and the subsequent finding of the body in the Ogmore River near Pandy Park, three people have been arrested.
