Richard Branson’s bloody injuries revealed after horror bike accident

Sir Richard Branson has revealed the extent of his injuries following a shocking bike crash. The Virgin tycoon, aged 73, disclosed his bloody scrapes after hitting a pothole and falling from his bike in Virgin Gorda. Branson posted a picture to his Instagram page alongside Alex Wilson, who he was also cycling with, as the businessman sported a bloody arm.

He walked away with more than a few cuts and bruises as he revealed the accident, which came after he ‘almost died’ in a high-speed bike crash in 2016, caused a haematoma on his hip. ‘Took quite a big tumble while cycling in Virgin Gorda a little while ago!’ he wrote in the caption.

‘I hit a pothole and crashed hard, resulting in another haematoma on my hip and a nasty cut elbow, but amazingly nothing broken. We were cycling with Alex Wilson, who fell after me, but thankfully he was ok as well. ‘I’m counting myself very lucky, and thankful for keeping myself active and healthy. After all, the brave may not live forever but the cautious do not live at all!’

It’s not the first time Branson has been involved in a biking accident in the Virgin Islands after the billionaire crashed head-first into the road during a training session with his children in 2016. He was rushed to Miami for X-rays and scans, where it was found he had a cracked cheek and torn ligaments.
