A massive fire has erupted in East London just metres away from a bustling street festival.
Columns of black smoke can be observed ascending above a block of flats on Woodgrange Road, Forest Gate, and the police have established cordons around the area.
A yearly street party brimming with families and children is currently underway in close proximity to the inferno.
According to witness Shehnaz Umer, who spoke to The Independent: “I spotted the smoke and immediately sensed that it marked the beginning of something immense. Within a minute, the flames became visible. As I drove ahead and glanced in my rear-view mirror, the sky was engulfed in black smoke within seconds.”
