A SCHOOLGIRL who was critically injured in a devastating collision has sadly passed away.
Bonny Rae Barrow, a 15-year-old, was a passenger in a van that veered off the road on Friday evening.
The vehicle crashed through a metal barrier, leaving the carriageway of the A56 Accrington Bypass slip road, and plunged into a steep ravine below.
Emergency services swiftly responded to the incident in Huncoat, Lancashire, and both the teenager and the 23-year-old driver were rushed to the hospital.
Bonny Rae received initial treatment at Manchester Children’s Hospital before being transferred to Wythenshawe Hospital, where she tragically succumbed to her injuries. A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
